Day 77: Now come on. I'm gonna show you.-- Baloo

Now come on. I'm gonna show you.-- Baloo, The Jungle Book

This relateable quote comes to us when Baloo is trying to teach Mowgli  how to be a bear, much to Bagheera the panther's dismay.

How many times have you heard either part of this quote in your life? I'm pretty sure you'll hear it a lot as the years go on. I can't tell you how many times I've heard it be said to me or said it to others myself. Every day we're shown something new, like how to cook a new meal or do a new job, or something that's familiar, like someone showing you an old photograph or being in a place that you love. In a world where we're constantly shown things, we sometimes tend to forget to slow down and listen to what we're being shown or told.

Sometimes life has a way of showing you something that's both new and familiar. For the past month, everytime I've gone outside to work on my blog posts there has been a beautiful red cardinal who has been very vocal to the point where I say "Hello, my little bird friend" every time when I see him. Lately, I've been able to see his mate too, who is just as equally beautiful, shortly after I see him, and I acknowledge her as well. They say seeing cardinals is a sign someone from heaven is watching you or has something to tell you, which I beleive is no coincidence. Cardinals, with their beautifully red-hued males and red-headed-brown-bodied females, only want to be seen when they want to, not when we want to. So they are quite mysterious birds. Every time I see them, I tend to get a sense of inner peace and hope I can't get anywhere else and, just by listening to their chirping, sometimes I get a major brainspark after seeing them of what I should post about or do. Though they don't speak our human language, they speak a special kind of language that talks to your soul. Each time I see my little Cardinal friends, they are always in a new place or on a new branch. Yet they have an old familiar chirp that makes me look up at them, greet them and smile. So it's one of life's little ways of showing me something new and familiar.

Take my blog for example. A lot of people assume Disney is just for little children or for little girls who love Princesses. Yet I know this is not true because it is so much more than that. With my blog, I hope to show you not only my passion and devotion for all things Disney (especially the characters and recipes), but also I hope to show you how truly relateable Disney is and that sometimes the movies and characters have much more deeper things to say and mean. If you learn something new through reading my blog or watching my videos, then my blog's work has been done.

So until next time, don't be afraid to show someone something new and Keep Cooking with Character!
