Day 37: No, impassible. Nothing’s impossible!-- The Doorknob

No, impassible. Nothing’s impossible!-- The Doorknob, Alice In Wonderland

This gem is a continuation of the conversation Alice has with The Doorknob which was started in Day 36's post. Alice wants to go through the door he's guarding, but is too big. She thinks it's impossible for her to go through. Yet he tells her this quote. Just because she was too big doesn't mean she couldn't get through. She just had to shrink down to the right size.

I've used the latter part of this quote on a few occasions in the past. Anything can be done if you just put your mind to it, even if you have to find new ways to make it work. For Alice, she had to drink a potion to shrink down to The Doorknob's size. For others, it could be something different depending on the circumstances. Let's say you're driving down the road and a dump truck overturned, spilling its load and blocking the highway so no one can get through. You can either wait til the emergency vehicles and tow trucks clear the crash, or if there is a side street or a roadside shoulder the cops will let you drive on, you can drive around it. So it's not impossible to keep going, your journey gets rerouted and you can continue on. You could also be working on a project and you're completely stuck in the direction it's going. You want to take it in a certain direction but you're not sure how to get it there or you all planned out but don't have the means to so you're stuck. You could work on another part of the project that you have the means to or you could leave it alone until the inspiration strikes to get you back on the right track. It could turn out even better than before. For example, I really want to get certain segments of my blog up and going, but I don't have the means to right now. So I am working on other segments (like my DisneyQuotes365 project) that I CAN work on. Then when the time is right, I'll be able to get the others going the way I have them planned, which may turn out better than I have planned. There are times where yes I think it's impossible to get these segments going, but when I think about my plans and remind myself of this quote, it's really not impossible, it's just that the timing is not right for them to be live. Even with my DisneyQuotes365 project, I've felt like it's impossible to finish since I took a few months off from posting due to life's circumstances, but yet I'm reminded it's not impossible when I see the long list of quotes I have already prepared waiting in the wings and how much fun I truly have picking out some of the most little-quoted quotes. Another reason why I felt it was impossible to finish was because I had several months to catch up on. Then, something inspired me to still keep going but tweak it. I had already Days 1-32 written and quotes for Days 33-40 drafted, including one DisneySongSaturday song. So I chose to look at my calender and calculated when Saturday Day 34 would be and ran from there. Instead of my project ending December 31st like I originally planned, it will end in roughly mid-July 2019, as long as I don't end up having to restart it again. It may be longer, if I want to include all of the Pixar films as well, because they have some doozies!
So remember nothing's impossible, even if during the moment it may seem that way and always Keep Cooking With Character!
