Day 30: If your spirits have hit a new low..--Ethel Smith

This is the opening line to the song "Blame it on the Samba" . In the beginning of the song, Donald Duck and José Carioca are really sad about something. Seeing them so blue, the arucuan bird guides them to a small cafe and tries to cheer them up with the samba. 

This song is very infectious. It is hard to stay blue by the end of it, not only from the visual standpoint but also the upbeat tempo found within. In the first line of the song, it speaks of a longing to be happy again and it gives a pretty good remedy. Sometimes all it takes to get out of a funk or a downydumpsy mood is a song. That one song to lift your spirits and mood's diffrent for everyone. What works for you may not work for me or someone else. Yet it may work for them too. 

They say music is a very powerful medium. It has the power to change moods in an instant, fueling emotions with or without lyrics. This song definitly has that power through its lyrics and upbeat instrumental segments.
