Day 31: If you were asked to chose the most fabulous character in English literature, who would it be?-- Narrator

"If you were asked to chose the most fabulous character in English literature, who would it be?"-- The Narrator, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

This is the opening line of the 1949 film "The Adentures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad". The Narrator is introducing the first segment which is based off the book The Wind in the Willows with his open-ended question before he nominates his own idea.

Personally I'm rather curious to who everyone thinks "the most fabulous character in English Lit". Being fabulous can mean diffrent things to diffrent people. It could mean owning the best things and always looking extremely fashionable and/or looking flawless and oozing confidence. It could also mean someone so full of life and joy that is the best word to use when all others fail. There are other meanings to it as well, outside the traditional dictionary meaning.
I think "being fabulous" in English lit means to be extremely over the top, goes all out to do or the best character one can be. I have to agree to some extent who The Narrator nominated. But I also think there are a lot more.
One of the most fabulous characters I think is Mr. Brownlow in Charles Dickens's novel Oliver Twist. He is a kind old gentleman with a huge heart who dresses very dapperly and is extremely wealthy, with a large mansion-like house and a housekeeper to boot. He takes Oliver in and nurses him back to health, then later saves him from a "pre-destined"  fate given the circumstances surrounding Oliver's birth. Mr. Brownlow also does not flaunt his wealth, like some"fabulous"ly rich people like to do. So that's why he's fabulous to me. Until next time: stay fabulous and KeepCooking With Character!
