"I hope we're not too late."--Perdita
Upon recieving news of who has her and Pongo's puppies, Perdita (Perdy) says this often said quote.
Have you ever recieved some news that may or may not have been the best? Perhaps you've been working on a project and it has a deadline but you're not sure if you'll reach it in time. Perhaps it was a life-goal you had set for yourself when you were younger to complete something by (say be married with kids by 30) but still haven't completed it for whatever reason (which is a-ok. you're not late just right on time).
The quote itsself portrays a sense of urgency. It also shows the speaker is on a timeline even though no end time is given. In Perdita's case, will they get there in time? Will she send Pongo ahead to let them know she's coming? Will she go ahead and let Pongo catch up? Will they confront the person when they get there? So many questions stem from this one quote. For those answers and the rest of her tale, watch Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmations.
