"She's such a kind understanding soul. At times she seems almost canine."--Pongo
When Pongo introduces us to Nanny, Roger and Anita's housemaid, he sees her fetching a dropped napkin from under the table on all fours.
Do you know someone like that? One of those kind understanding loyal souls who are willing to do anything for you? Nanny is a great example of that. Even though she's the family maid, you can tell she acts how she does because that is who she is, not just because of her position. She does a lot for the Roger and Anita and is one of the unsung heroes of the story, espeically in the first act. Though she didn't have to, she gave the grim news that one of the puppies didn't make it and brought his tiny body to Roger, who luckily managed to revive him. She also did what she could to protect the puppies while Roger, Anita, Pongo and Perdita were on their nightly walk, putting herself in harms way in the process. Though she and half of the humans are absent for a majority of the film, their presense is still felt throughout. She, Roger and Anita are great examples of humans being "almost canine" in a film.
So until Keep Cooking with Character!
